Sometimes shots look more glamorous than they actually are. It was cold this morning at Sky Pond, located at about 11,000 ft. in Rocky Mountain National Park. It took a bit of convincing to get her out on those rocks.

Girl in the Clouds – Pic of the Day
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009It Won’t be Long Now… Pic of the Day
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009
Yeah, once all these pretty leaves are gone, we’ll soon be buried in the white stuff. And don’t forget how long that white stuff sticks around… Here is a pic from a backyard adventure in Corbett Canyon with Sara Campbell during Spring Break. Yeah, that’s right, this was during Spring Break! Kind of a twisted Spring Break adventure I know. Did you notice the running water just beneath her feet too! You don’t have to go far behind your house to find adventure here in Ouray!
Excuse Station – Pic of the Day
Monday, September 28th, 2009
We arrived at the base of the the Reservoir Wall beneath the climb Excuse Station (5.11). For the girls it would be more of a hand crack and perhaps would serve as a warm up. I offered to go first so I could photograph the girls on the climb. Excuse Station is so not a warm up for me. It feels like solid 5.12 with my big hands. One hundred and twenty feet of tight hands and finger stacks. A brutal way to start the day. I did get the rope on the climb and the photos were worth it though.

Pretty Girls and Pretty Mountains – Pic of the Day
Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009Hacienda Del Muerte – Pic of the Day
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009
It’s hard to imagine that about 50 years ago, this building was a sugar plantation. This region used to be wet, and now it’s just arid desert and some mines. The Hacienda Del Muerte (Plantation of the Dead) is located outside of Miña which is about an hour Northwest of Monterrey, Mexico. For the climbers out there, it’s not a very far drive from El Potrero Chico.
The towns of Miña and Hildago seem quite poor by US standards. The houses are simple concrete cinder block houses, usually built by the owners. The eye opener however is traveling Northwest of these towns into the desert. There are small villages that appear to be built by wooden pallets strung together fighting not to be blown away by the wind. The landscape becomes stark as there is little vegetation and likely no water. In places along the road, children set up road blocks to beg for food or money. So how do you make the choice to not support children asking for handouts, yet at the same time perpetuate a bad situation. There is no right answer. You give them some money, hope your conscious is OK with the decision and drive on.
Let’s Go On Vacation! – Pic of the Day
Monday, September 21st, 2009
If this pic doesn’t make you want to go on vacation, what will? Zane sips on a lemonade from the comforts of a hammock in Tulum, Mexico. This was taken during our attempt at living in Playa del Carmen for a winter. This one photo makes it look like we had a great time there. In reality, it was the opposite.
He Never had a Chance – Pic of the Day

I love this pic. Not because it is such a work of art, but it just amuses me. Sometimes the story a picture tells is more fun than things like lighting and shape. Lisa looks so big next to the Thai guy she’s sparing with. I was lucky to catch this shot, because she kicked that dude into Vietnam just a split second later. At least that’s how the story goes.
This photo was taken in 2002, Tonsai Beach, Thailand.

Thursday, September 17th, 2009Crossfit T-shirt Design (Front)
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009[SinglePic not found]This is a T-shirt we designed for Cross-fitters and will be available for sale soon. It was quite a lot of work getting this image the way I wanted it. I spent days working and re-working it until I was happy with it. After that, I learned that some of the grays wouldn’t print, so I had to rework it a little more even. It was worth it though as I’m happy with the end result. The main subjects are a bit centered in this view, but most of the side will be cropped off on a T-shirt and so it will be a bit of a tighter view on the shirt.
