Drone, People or Pet Recovery

We have utilized drones in search of all three.

Our special vertical access skills allow us to find and recover drones that others cannot. We have rescued drones from 2,000′ cliffs, the tops of trees, and in the bottom of slot canyons.

Tips for a Successful Drone Shot:

  1. Plan Ahead:
    • Check for restricted airspace in your planned flight location, as it may require an FAA waiver.
    • Understanding aeronautical maps can be challenging, so feel free to call us for assistance.
    • Remember, the absence of people doesn’t guarantee flight permission; always verify airspace regulations.
  2. Weather Considerations:
    • Be mindful of high winds, which can impact drone stability and affect image quality.
    • Modern drone gimbals are impressive, but wind turbulence can still be challenging, especially near obstacles.
    • Consider weather conditions such as precipitation and low cloud layers, as they can impact both safety and image clarity.

Flying in the ice caves underneath a glacier in the Mt. St. Helens volcano crater is certainly the most interesting place I have taken a drone! The ground is steaming from the magma, and the ceilings are dripping water from the steam melting the ice. It’s dark, the ground is unstable, and there are boulders melting and falling out of the ice in the ceiling. Forty years ago, this place was deep inside the center of a mountain. – Jason Nelson
