Hosting Information

First you’ll need to determine if you have been hosted on Emark or Account Support servers. If you were set up with hosting by Visual Aventures before 2010 and haven’t been moved (you would have been notified) you are on the Emark servers.   If you still don’t know or are having problems, just contact us.

Accessing Your Hosting Account

Account Support – To access your hosting account control panel (called Vdeck) visit accountsupport.com and login with your hosting account credentials.   These are often the same as your FTP login but are different from your WordPress login.

Emark – To access you hosting account control panel (called cPanel) visit youdomainname.com/cpanel and login with your hosting account credentials.   These are often the same as your FTP login but are different from your WordPress login.

What to do when you have a problem

Backups

We are now setting up WordPress sites with a   plugin that will back up your site to a directory on your hosting, a dropbox account, an Amazon S3 account, and several other services.   Even better, it’s automated, so you don’t have to do it yourself.   Give us a shout if you’re interested in this service.

Is Your Site Up to Date?

Every now and again a site gets hacked because the software is not up to date.   Give us a shout if you’re concerned about this.   Normally, the minimum charge of 15 mins. Is all that is required to update your site and plug-ins.

Visual Adventures   and   Emark Hosting do not guarantee 100% uptime (no hosting services do)

Do not put illegal things on your site or do illegal things with it. (Note: if you site gets hacked, illegal things may be put on your site and may cause and interruption in service).

Visual Adventures   and   Emark Hosting do not guarantee site backups. They are usually made, but you should have   backups made for your site files yourself.   Note: in your cPanel there is a backup wizard.
